Tutorial One: Information Technology and Ethical Issues

Definition of Information Technology/Information commuications technology.......

I feel comfortable using a computer and many of the applications. The computer I use at home is a vista home premium. At first I had alot of learning to do with how windows functioned. However I have now managed to learn how the computer functions.

While on fieldwork IT was being used to store clients information. As well as using it for research purposes. for example the database system, which has several articles.

Many ethical issues can derive from capturing, Sharing and transferring information via IT devices. The biggest, most common issue that is experineced is Privacy issues. This happens due to people not asking for consent before posting a picture that contains people. Perhaps manipulation of photos and pictures. When not refercerning information that has been taken from other sources is also a reoccuring ethical issue. Therefore many authors and publishers copy right their work. By referening and asking for consent, acknowledges the authors/publishers work.

Computer ethics: is a branch of practical philosphy which deals with how computering professionals should make decisions regarding professionals and social conduct.

Intellectual Property: is a term referring to a number of distinct types of legal monopoilicies over creations of the mind both artistic and commerical and the corresponding fields of law.

As part of the paper, participation in occupation 1 it is expected that students create an online blog. Within the blog students will demonstate their knowledge based on different ways technology can be used to bring engagment in Occupation of people who have occupational needs, and consider how technology can be used to enchance therapy sevices to clients.
